Guangxi Bama Tianrun Titanium Co., Ltd locates in Bama County of Guangxi Province; it is the famous ore field of ferro-titanium in western part of Guangxi, even all over our country. Previous investigation have been done on ferro-titanium mine in this area, the ferro-titanium deposit is situated in Minan and Pinglin. Several ferro-titanium mines are discovered in its surrounding, it has been existed the phenomenon of small-scale people mining. After analyzing present geological data and development status, great exploration potential and developing prospect of ilmenite in this area have been gotten.
Ore field locates in west forest of west part of Guangxi in south China—core part of east of Baise structural belt. The area is subtropical monsoon climate zone; rainy season concentrates on May to September with abundant rainfall, big difference in temperature between day and night; Main topography is hills and easy descent – low middle mountain, that consist of diabase, silicolite, mudstone, and limestone, middle topographical cut, sparse vegetation cover—middle. High-voltage has been laid on this area, production and living electricity is supplied by Dahua Yantan large-scale hydropower with adequate power, where is 40km far from Bama county. Telephone and mobile phone have been popularized in village. Local people is living in a poor condition, surplus labor is abundant. The designed production scale is processing the production capability of lOOgd ilmenite concentrate (TiO: grade>48%).
Mineral Constituent of Ore:
Mineral with titanium mainly are ilmenite (consist of 15.78%), rutile, white titanium ore, brookite, titanite (consist of 1.45%), other metallic minerals are goethite, hydrogoethite, hydrohematite, hollandite, pyrite, etc(consist of 15.87%). Gangue minerals are illite, kaolinite, chlorite, halloysite, montmorillonite, quartz, feldspar, mica, pyroxene, amphibole, wollastonite, carbonatite, etc(consist of 66.90%).
Technique Design of Mineral Processing:
Because there is a big difference between the designed undressed ore grade and undressed ore grade of mineral processing research, the mineral processing technique flow obtained from experiment cannot directly applied, adjustment and optimization of experimental flow and structure should be done, so as to make it match with the screening features of Guangxi Bama ilmenite ore.
Major Equipment Selection:
Screening equipment: According to the mineral processing method towards raw ore and ore property, the design calculates the specification and treatment capacity of cylinder screen required by raw ore in terms of gold dredge cylinder screen(wash drum). Due the relatively fine particle of titanium mineral in raw ore, high grade titanium is mainly focused in -2+0.388mm, repeated studies of grain composition of raw ore and TiO: the impact of relation of distributive rate and sieve pore size of cylinder screen on screening efficiency and treatment capacity are used to determine the application of double-layer cylinder screen with inner layer sieve pore of 6mm, outer layer sieve pore of 1.5mm. Then, taking the change of ore property, load of cylinder screen, fluctuation range of process load per hour one set, and operation, etc, two multi-functional cylinder screen with 1.8mx5.4m is the most appropriate. The greatest processing ability of the equipment is up to 546m/h, and 11kw electric motor can be equipped.
Equipment Configuration Features
In device configuration, simple equipment configuration contributes to improve the mineral processing efficiency, easy to be operated, and safe in production.
(1) Spiral chute is allocated of 4 sets as a group in roughing plant, which not only saves the area, reduces costs on capital construction, but also creates conditions for daily operation, management, and further improves sorting indicators in mineral processing plant.
(2) Table is allocated on flat land in concentration plant, the foundation of table is established on plane E, not a platform. Plane horizontal configuration will save altitude difference, reduce the altitude workshop, save costs on capital construction, as well as total investment. Besides, plane horizontal configuration will enable workers easy for operation, convenient to management, because all the equipments are placed in a plane. Foundation of table is established on a ground level, not a platform, this method increases the safety of production and reliability of the device. Because there is great vibration while table is working, if the foundation is constructed on platform, it is very easy to damage the foundation, which will bring dangers to production, and unavailable for reliability of equipment. Some re-concentration plants allocated tables in a series of cascade, established the foundation on the platform in order to realize pulp gravity flowing. Once the table is begin to work, the platform and foundation are shaking together, which made the workers do not dare to get close and operate it, brought unsafety to production. Meanwhile, there is no guarantee for the daily operators, it is a source of endless troubles.
